A Brief History of Time Travel- There's one thing that Star Trek and Dr. Who fandoms have in common: time travel! This documentary takes you on a journey through the evolution of time travel, from its origins and influence in science fiction to the exciting possibilities technology could yet uncover...

Synopsis

Time travel reaches far beyond the realm of science fiction. From early stories featuring heroes mysteriously falling into far-flung future worlds to countless appearances in literature, the idea of traveling through time has spanned cultures across the globe and is one of the most contagious ideas in science fiction. In a society where time is a unit of value and instant gratification is prized, the idea of traveling through time offers a means of escape. And our obsession with time travel is growing: in the last decade, it’s appeared more than ever in books, movies, and pop culture. What makes time travel so powerful that it resonates in each of us, and to what lengths are we going today to make it a reality?

Through interviews with experts across a variety of fields – theoretical physicists, game designers, spiritual leaders to futurist authors, A Brief History of Time Travel explores how this idea has inspired some of the prominent intellectual minds of today, and how it has influenced their work.
